A. Authorization

4000. A local church within an established district may be incorporated (cf. 2016 Wesleyan Discipline:655:14) when so authorized by the district board of administration (2016 Wesleyan Discipline:1233:32). The incorporation of a local church within a developing district or provisional district may be authorized when deemed necessary by the Executive Director of Church Multiplication and Discipleship.

4005. The articles of incorporation and bylaws for the incorporation of a local church shall be according to the standard provisions in 2016 Wesleyan Discipline:4010, any other pertinent requirements of The Discipline, and the requirements of local laws as advised by competent legal authority, and shall be approved in writing by the authorizing district board of administration or official (2016 Wesleyan Discipline:4000).
