(1) Designate a criterion for parliamentary procedure for itself and for the other bodies of The Wesleyan Church.

645. Rules of Order. The business of the local church conference shall be conducted according to the current edition of Robert’s Rules of Order, Newly Revised, except when formally suspended or otherwise ordered by The Discipline. 1138. Rules of Order. District conference business shall be conducted according to the current edition of Robert’s Rules of Order, Newly Revised, except when otherwise ordered by The Discipline (1156). 1547. Rules of Order. General Conference business shall be conducted according to the current edition of Robert’s Rules of Order, Newly Revised, except when formally suspended by the General Conference or when other procedures are required by The Discipline (360:1). 1590

(15) Elect by ballot and by majority vote, from among the ordained ministers of The Wesleyan Church, one General Superintendent. When an incumbent General Superintendent’s term of office is expiring and the General Superintendent is available for continued service, the reelection vote shall be a “yes/no” ballot. In the event of a vacancy, the General Board shall determine a process for the identification of eligible candidates for the office of General Superintendent. The General Board shall evaluate candidates to determine their availability for election. The General Board shall provide one or more nominations to the General Conference for election.
